Right before the CES 2009, Canon announced its new VIXIA High Definition camcorders, including the VIXIA HF S10, HF S100, HF20, HF200, and HV40.
The VIXIA HF S10 and VIXIA HF S100 are HD digital camcorders based on flash memory. Both them have a 8.59 Megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor and features 10X optical zoom Canon lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display, Canon’s DIGIC DV III image processor, Canon Face Detection Technology, advanced Auto Exposure system and Video Snapshot and Dual Shot Modes.
Canon’s VIXIA HF S10 comes with 32GB internal memory and a SDHC memory card slot while VIXIA HF S100 records to an SDHC memory card only. They offer also Instant AutoFocus, SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization and 24Mbps Recording.
Canon will release VIXIA HF S10 and VIXIA HF S100Â in February 2009 while the pricing has not been announced.
