While Sprint announced the first WiMAX wireless broadband network, XOHM, in the US, Acer presents two new notebooks that supports WiMAX connectivity. Acer’s two new laptops are Aspire 4930-6862 and Aspire 6930-6771. Both laptops are Centrino 2-based and come with the first combined WiMAX/Wi-Fi module, which is part of the Intel WiMAX/Wi-Fi Link 5050 Series.
Both Acer Aspire 4930-6862 and Aspire 6930-6771 are powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T7350 2GHz processor, 3GB of memory, integrated 4500HMHD graphics, and a 320GB hard drive. They ahve also a SuperMulti DVD DL burner, a 5-in-1 card reader, an Acer Crystal Eye webcam, and Dolby Home Theater sound output. The Aspire 4930-6862 comes with a 14.1-inch Acer CrystalBrite LCD while the Aspire 6930-6771 gets a 16-inch screen.
Both laptopss will be available in Baltimore for a suggested price of $899.99.
