ClarionMiND MID now gets Atom and Optional 3G

Clarion is going to release its new ClarionMiND “Mobile Internet Navigation Device” (MIND) device in the US and Canada in November this year.The new ClarionMiND is now powered by Intel’s Atom 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM. It features a 4.8-inch WVGA 800×480 LCD touchscreen, WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2/0, integrated SiRFstarIII GPS with Radio Data System – Traffic Message Channel (RDS-TMC).

The ClarionMiND offers also meida player with the Clarion H.M.I. media player interface for a quick and intuitive user experience. It runs Linux OS 2.6.22 and comes with a Firefox-based browser that supports Flash. It has also integrated Real Player.

The standard model, which has no 3G support, will be priced at $649.99. THere is a ClarionMiND Premium Model featuring 3G network compatibility is scheduled for release in Spring 2009.
