Sony announced at the CEDIA EXPO 2008 its BDP-S5000ES Blu-ray player with BD-Live support. Sony BDP-S5000ES comes with Sony’s 14-bit HD video processor, HD Reality Enhancer and Super Bit Mapping technologies for harper and more vibrant images. With BD-Live support, the player can connect to the internet using the Ethernet port for BD-Live contents and eady firmware update.
This new Blu-ray player has the Precision Cinema HD Upscale technology for DVD upscaling via HDMI port. It offers also 7.1 channel DolbyTrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio decoding.
The BDP-S5000ES supports Deep Color video output and AVCHD discs encoded with x.v.Color(TM) (xvYCC) technology. It plays also DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, CD-R/RW and JPEG discs.
Available in November, the Sony BDP-S5000ES costs about $2,000.
