Other than the EOS 50D DSLR, Canon introduces also the entry-level PowerShot A1000 IS and A2000 IS digital cameras. Both of them feature a 10 Megapixel image sensor and the DIGIC III image processor offering Face Detection, Motion Detection, Red-eye reduction as well as optical image stabilization.
The PowerShotA1000 IS has 4x optical zoom and 2.5-inch LCD screen; while the PowerShot A2000 IS offers 6x optical zoom and a 3-inch LCD display.
The A1000 IS and A2000 IS will be available in September for a suggested price of $199.99 and $249.99 respectively.
