Apple has officially announced the new iPhone 3G at the WWDC. The 3G iPhone features the same 3.5-inch touchscreen, WiFi and Bluetooth support. It now supports the 3G UMTS network and HSDPA high speed data transfer. Assisted GPS has also been added.
The headphone jack can now be used with any 3.5mm headphones. The new iPhone measures 115.5×62.1×12.3mm which is a bit thicker than the 2G iPhone. The phone now goes global. You can get in on 11 July in 22 countries and it will be available in 70 countries this year.
The phone has 8GB and 16GB version and the price is now more affordable. 8GB version costs only $199 USD while the 16GB costs $299USD.
