Sony shows the world a prototype of its newly developed micro size fuel-cell system. Measures abut 50x30mm, the micro size box packs fuel cell, Li-polymer secondary battery, control circuit and other components.
The micro fuel cell uses methanol directly as fuel and it is an active fuel-cell system, which controls fuel supply with a pump. With 10mL of methanol, the device can supply power enough for a mobile phone to play 1seg movies for 14 hours.
