BenQ announced the S41 laptop series based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform. It packs an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor and 512MB of RAM (max 2GB). The NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics card supports up to 1GB TurboCache and PureVideo HD technology for enhanced video and graphics performance. There is also HDMI output for showing PC content on a bigger monitor or HDTV. The laptop also delivers ‘cinema-grade’ audio performance with dual 1.5W speakers enhanced by SRS TruSurround.
Other than 80-160GB hard drive, the Joybook also gets either a 8X DVD SuperMulti burner or a 24X DVD/CD-RW combo optical drive; and a 5-in-1 card reader. It supports Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n and comes with an integrated 1.3 Megapixel wbecam
BenQ will release the JoyBook S41 in May.
