The Sony Portable Reader System PRS-500 has finally been placed on Sony Store’s e-merchant portal though still on pre-order. Sony’s PRS-500 is the first 4-shade e-ink reading device.
The 6″ display does not have any backlight, so it will be better for our eyes and you can enlarge the enlarge text up to 200%. The device has a battery life of about “7,500 page turns.” Its internal storage can hold up to 80 e-books, while additional storage capacity is available via an Secure Digital (Surprised me) and MemoryStick slot.
The PRS-500 measures 6.9″ x 4.9″ x 0.5″ and weighs less than 9 ounces. The price will probably at $349.99.
