Huawei introduces in Hong Kong its new E583C mobile WiFi hotspot. Like the similar MiFi devices, the E583C converts 3.5G HSPA mobile signal into WiFi offering WiFi hotspots for WiFi-enabled devices.
Huawei’s E583C is capable of handling simultaneous internet access to five WiFi devices and to a sixth device when it is connected via a USB cable. The device supports 3.5G HSPA up to 5.76Mbps (uplink) and 7.2Mbps (downlink). It comes with a 1-inch color OLED display and a microSD card slot supporing up to 32GB card.
Also announced is the Huawei E173u USB mobile broadband modem that supports HSPA network and offers microSD card slot. Huawei E583C and E173u are priced at HK$1380 and HK$498 respectively.
