Sigma announced the launch of the 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM lens for DSLR cameras. Priced at 123,800 Yen, Sigma’s 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM zoom lens features HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) offering quiet and high speed auto focus. It has a ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass, two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and three aspherical lenses provide excellent correction of all types of aberrations.
The Canon DSLR compatible Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG HSM will be launched on 25 January 2009 while the Nikon and Sigma versions on February. The release date of Sony and Pentax-mounted version is not yet announced.
