JVC announced a new handheld ProHD camcorder, the GY-HM600 that “delivers exceptional imagery and features for news, sports, and independent production.” The camcorder is equipped with three, 1\/3-inch 12-bit CMOS sensors, each with 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 23x Fujinon Auto focus zoom lens with manual functions, and three ND filters. It offers excellent sensitivity (F11 at 2000 lux) and superior low-light performance.<\/p>\n

The GY-HM600 also provides auto focus with face detection and an optical image stailizer. In addition the the color 3.5-inch LCD display, the camcorder also comes with a 1.2 Megapixel color viewfinder. Its built-in stereo microphone is ideal for capturing natural sound, and there are two XLR inputs with phantom power and a shotgun mic holder, as well as a headphone jack and separate input for a wireless mic receiver. The lightweigh professional camcorders records Full HD\/HD or SD videos in multiple formats including native XDCAM EX (.MP4), Final Cut Pro (.MOV), and AVCHD, to SDHC or SDXC media cards.<\/p>\n

The GY-HM600 has a second trigger and servo zoom control on its built-in handle that make it easy to record while holding the camera at low or high angles. It features the Pre Rec (retro cache) function that continuously records and stores up to five seconds of footage in cache memory to help prevent missed shots of breaking events.
