Chinese electronics company TCL has partnered with e-commerece site JD.com to launch an afforadble super-slim quad-core smartphone. Known as Idol X, the handset is slim at just 6.99mm and is priced at just 1699 Chinese Yuan (US$278). While it is not as slim as Huawei’s latest Ascend P6, it gets a bigger, higher-resolution 5-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen with 1.75mm super thin bezel.
The Idol X runs Android 4.2 on a quad-core MediaTek MT6589T 1.5GHZ processor and 2GB of RAM. Its 13.1 Megapixel main camera supports Full HD video recording and gets LED flash and there is a 2 Megapixel front camera. It includes also Dual-SIM capabilities, and supports HSPA+ and quad-band GSM mobile networks. Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi-n, FM radio are included as well.
There are red, blue and yellow versions to choose from, but the phone is intended for China market only.
