Newer Technology has updates its miniStack range with a new 4-in-1 model called miniStack MAX. Not only does the system look like Apple’s Mac Mini, it also has a size matching the mini computer that allows users to stack it on a Mac mini. Its durable aluminum designed body also complements Mac’s aluminum finish. Of course, multiple miniStack can be stacked to create a storage tower.
Ideal for data back and storage, the 4-in-1 storage solution comes with internal hard drive, built-in optical drive, SD card slot and USB 3.0 hub. The miniStack MAX has an internal 3.5-inch hard drive with up to 4TB of capacity and is fully bootable. While optical discs is no longer a popular form for data back and storage, the internal DVD burner allows users to burn video DVD discs for playback on DVD player and HDTV. The drive can be upgraded to Blu-ray reader or even Blu-ray writer. The SD/SDHC/SDXC on the front allows users to backup photos and videos from digital cameras and camcorder easily and quickly.
The system features quad-interface, including USB 3.0/2.0, Firewire 800/400 and eSATA. The 3-port USB 3.0 hub allows users to connect multiple external devices. While all three ports are powered for for charging mobile devices, one of them offers 2.1Amp output for charging power-hungry devices such as the iPad. The integrated MagLev fan helps keep the miniSTACK Mac cool and offers frictionless, quiet operation. There is an integrated Kensington security slot for theft prevention.
The price of miniStack MAX ranges from $229.99 for 500GB hard drive and DVD burner to $569.99 with 4TB HDD and Blu-ray writer. You may get the enclosure only for $149.99.
