There are totally four new models in ViewSonic’s PJD8 series of projectors. We’ve seen the PJD8653ws and PJD8353s with dual pen interactivity before, this time let’s take a look at the PJD8633ws and PJD8333s. Both of them are networkable ultra short-throw projectors with advanced connectivity ideal for small classroom spaces and corporate environments.
The PJD8633ws model features 1280×800 WXGA resolution, while the PJD8333s can deliver 1024×768 XGA images. Both of them have 3000 lumens brightness and 15,000:1 contrast ratio. With large fisheye lens, the former is able to produce 81-inch images from 2.1 feet (throw ratio 0.375), and the latter has a throw ratio of 0.468, meaning it is able to project a 70-inch image from 2.2 feet. The DynamicEco technology extends lamp life to up to 7500 hours.
With RJ45 Ethernet network port and optional WiFi (via USB wireless dongle), ViewSonic’s new projectors support wired and wireless LAN display and are able to stream content and presentation wirelessly from smartphone and tablets (using a dedicated mobile app). It also supports USB display and includes PC-less presentation capabilities. There are also a 3D Blu-ray-ready HDMI input, S-video, component, composite, D-sub inputs.
Both PJD8633ws and PJD8333s come with a Crestron LAN controller for remote control and are certified with AMX Device Discovery for easy integration. They are priced at $1,229.99 and $1199.99, respectively.
