Samsung is bringing all its Windows-based devices under one single brand. The ATIV brand, previously the name for Samsung’s Windows convertible PCs and Windows Phones, will now include all the company’s Windows-based PCs, including notebooks, tablet PC, convertibles and all-in-one PCs. Along with the rebranding, Samsung also introduces two new ATIV Book Ultrabooks.
The ATIV Book 5 (model NP540U4E-K01US) is designd for speed and mobility. It sports an Intel Core i5-3337U 1.8GHz processor, 4GB fo RAM and integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics. Along with the 500GB hard drive, the notebook comes with 24GB of ExpressCache to offer rapid boot-up and load times. It 14-inch display features 1366×768 resolution and 200 nits of brightness, and its battery provides up to 6.5 hours of use. It measures 13.31″ x 9.21″ x 0.82″ and weighs 4.19lbs.
The ATIV 6 (model NP680Z5E-X01US) is not just bigger but also more powerful, boasting a 2.4GHz Core i7-3635QM, 8GB of RAM and dedicated AMD Radeon HD 8770M graphics chip. It has a 15.6-inch 1920×1080 Full HD display with 300 nits and SuperBright technology. There is a 1TB hard drive for storage. You can expect up to 4.7 hours of battery life.
Both ATIV Books come eequopped with 2Wx2 JBL Stereo speaker and a 720p HD webcam and supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n. The Book 5 and Book6 will be available for $949.99 and $1199.99, respectively.
