TomTom introduces two new GPS sport watches to deliver performance information for runners, cyclists and swimmers. The Runner and the Multi-Sport both have a large display with scratch and impact-resistant glass, and feature one-button control for users to navigate quickly and easily through menus. With a 11.5mm ultra slim design, the watches comfortably fits men and women and all wrist sizes.
The Runner and Multi-Sport supports GPS and GLONASS satellite technology and features QuickGPSFix to pinpoint precise location quickly. They also sports built-in sensors to track indoor runs. TomTom’s new watches also include Graphical Training Partner that allows users to view their real-time performance at-a-glance with three graphical training modes: Race (Race against personal best), Goal (see the progress towards a distance, time or calories goal) and Zone (track progress towards a target for pace or heart-rate).
The Multi-Sport, as its name tells, is intended for multi-sport athletes to track their distance, time, speed and other key metrics when they cycle or swim. It adds barometric altimeter to track elevation, ascent, descent and grade, and Swimming Motion Sensor to check swim metric such as laps, stroke, time and speed, and calculates a SWOLF swim efficiency score. There is also a dedicated bike mount, and the watch also works with Cadence Sensor.
Both watches has up to 10 hours of battery life and are waterproof up to 50 meters. They supports Bluetooth Smart and can be used with optional Heart Rate monitor to track training zone for weight control, performance or speed. Users can sync, analyze and share their stats on TomTom MySports website, MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, TrainingPeaks and MyFitnessPal.
TomTom will release the Runner and the Multi-Sport in Summer 2013.
