Panasonic updates its LUMIX GF series with the new DMC-GF6 with built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity for wireless image transfer and sharing. As an update to the GF5, the new Micro Four Thirds camera packs a new 16 Megapixel Live MOS sensor and a new Venus Engine to deliver high quality images with minimized noise and high resolution.
The GF6 is a high-speed camera. It features Light Speed AF system for capturing fast-moving subjects clearly. With 0.5 second start-up time, you won’t miss any moment. There is also the new Low Light AF system, that combined with a maximum ISO 25600 (Extended) high sensitivity, to deliver outstanding low-light performance. The mirrorless camera also features Multi-process NR (Noise Reduction), Detail Reproduction Filter Process, Intelligent D-range Control to deliver enhanced image quality.
With built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity, sharing images with iOS or Android smartphone or tablets is easy using Panasonic’s dedicated Image app. You can pair the camera with your NFC-capable smartphone/tablet with a simple tap, and start transferring images and videos wirelessly. Remote shooting using smartphone/tablet is also possible and users can control the shutter, zooming, focusing as well as shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation.
The LUMIX GF6 supports Full HD video recording in AVCHD or MP4 format with stereo sound. It includes iA (Intelligent Auto) mode and scene guide for beginners, and there are Creative Control, Creative Panorama, Stop Motion Animation and Self Shot modes. The in-camera Clear Retouch function allows you to erase unwanted objects or figures in an image by just tracing over them on monitor with a fingertip. It 3-inch touch display has a high 1040k-dot resolution and is tiltable.
The Panasonic GF6 is available in black, red, white and brown colors. It is available standalone or as following lens kits:
