InFocus, better known for its projectors, introduces a huge touchscreen all-in-one PC. Designed for business, education and healthcare/medical users, the BigTouch (model INF55WIN8) is intended to deliver Windows 8 Pro’s touch experience in on a large 55-inch 1080p display. Built for touch, the display features 5-point multitouch and supports Windows 8 gestures including tap, slide, swipe, pinch, and rotate for interacting with content.
The huge BigTouch all-in-one is powered by Intel’s Core i5-2520m processor with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 120GB SSD for storage. The unit provides two Ethernet ports and supports dual-band WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n connectivity. The over-sized BigTouch can also be used as a display, offering two HDMI 1.3mm, VGAm Component, S-video, composite inputs. It comes with wireless keyboard and mouse and sports built-in 7Wx2 speakers. Running Windows 8 Pro, the PC runs not just apps with Windows 8 UI but any Windows software.
The BigTouch is priced at $4999. It can be easily upgraded to Mondopad using the Mondopad Upgrade kit, providing integrated collaboration platform that enables video conferencing, digital whiteboard, viewing and sharing MS Office files.
