The company has just introduced the new Roku 3 that is said to be the fastest, most poweful Roku streaming player to date. Other than hardware enhancement, the new box also gets a new look with rounded edges and a glossier finish. It also comes with an enhanced remote control with built-in headphone jack for private listening using the included in-ear headphones.
The Roku 3 sports a more powerful CPU and features a new user interface for you to find the channels or movie titles you want easily. Like other Roku players, the new model is able to stream from hundreds of channels with over 150,000 movies and shows, including Neflix, Hulu Plus, HBO GO, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, as well as live sports such as MLB.TV, NBA League Pass Broadband, NHL GameCenter. Of course, the the all-new Roku supports 1080p Full HD videio output and digital surround sound via HDMI. It has an Ethernet LAN jack and supports dual-band WiFi 802.11n wireless connectivity.
Other than streaming from online, the Roku 3 also supports playback from microSD memory card and USB storage media. It plays MP4 (H.264), MKV (H.264), AAC, MP3 and JPG, PNG formats. The new enhanced remote can also be used as a motion-sensing gaming controller and using the free Roku app, users can use their iOS and Android devices as a Roku command center.
