Acer launches a new mid-range Android smartphone, the Liquid E1 (model V360), in China. The phone includes Dual-SIM capability so you have two numbers in one phone and one of the SIM card slots supports 3G/HSDPA mobile network. It comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
At 1699 Chinese Yuan (US$273), the E1 packs a 1Ghz dual-core MTK6577 processor, 1GB RAM and 4GB of ROM. It features a 4.5-inch 960540 touchscreen display, a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS and a microSD card slot.
The price of the handset may look attrative but it does’t seem to be competitive enough in China market. If you remember, Huawei’s G520 asks for just 1399 Chinese Yuan (U$225) for quad-core MTK processor, 4.5-inch IPS, 5 Megapixel camera and a 0.3 Megapixel front camera. The G520 lacks dual-SIM support though. So, it depends on whether consumers think the dual-SIM function worth the extra.
