Here comes another Galaxy smartphone, this time a rugged model for users with an active, outdoor lifestyle. Successor to the original XCover, the new Galaxy XCover 2 gets a faster processor, bigger display and higher resolution camera. Optimized to withstand rugged outdoor conditions, the handset is IP67 certified for dust-resistant and water-resistant to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.
The rugged handset runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Motion UI on a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It comes pre-loaded with the Cardio Trainer Pro workout application that allows users to create training program, record speed and check progress.
It sports a 4-inch 480×800 WVGA touchscreen and a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash. There is also a VGA front-facing camera for video calls. It supports GPS and GLONASS positioning technology for location tracking, and you can also find Bluetooth 4.0 and WIFi connectivity as well as AllShare Play for wireless streaming.
The Galaxy Xcover 2 has 4GB internal memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB.
