The [RAW] model is basically lite version of the original Apex, offering advanced features at a more competitive price.
As SteelSeries said, the Apex is built to offer gamers more ways to win. The Apex features 22 macro keys along the top and left side, each capable of 4 layers, providing a total of 88 macro keys, while the Apex [RAW] has 17 macro keys and 2 layers per key for a total of 34 macros. Of course, every keys of the keyboards are also programmable. The macro keys on top above the function keys have a raised design for easy access and you can swipe your finger down onto the F-key for quick key combinations. The Apex keyboards also feature superior anti-ghosting of up to 20 key presses, two small tactile bumps on the W-key so you can go back to WASD faster, a bigger space bar and two extra arrow keys to improve gaming experience. The Apex adds also dedicated media buttons.
Another feature of smart feature of the Apex is the ActiveZone illumination that allows users to independently customize its 5 color zone that can display 16.8 millions colors with 8 levels of illuminiation intensity for style and funtion.
