Sony brings two new E-mount lenses, a 20mm pancake wide angle lens and a 18-200 power zoom lens, for its Alpha E-mount NEX mirrorless cameras such as NEX-5, NEX-6, and semi-professional camcorders such as NEX-VG10, VG20. Both lenses have an alumnium alloy exterior finish and are equipped with internal motor. They support Direct Manula Focus and AF for movie record.
The E 20mm F2.8 (model SEL20F28) is a pancake wide angle lens ideal for everyday shooting. It features a 35mm equivalent 30mm wide angle and F2.8 aperture. The ultra slim lens measures just 20mm, and weighs only 69g. It will be available in April for $359.
The E PZ18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS (model SELP18200), on the other hand, is a motorized telezoom lens that is originally offered as a kit lens for NEX-VG30 camcorder. With a 35mm equivalent 27-300mm focal length, the lens offers 11x magnification range. It sports built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization to reduce the effects of camera shake, and the Active Mode will enhance stabilization at the wide end of the 11x zoom range ensuring smooth, stable footage even if the you are walking. Though optimized for video, the lens can handle still image shooting as well. Coming in March, the SELP18200 will be priced at $1200.
