NTT DoCoMO, the bigger mobile network operator in Japan, has announced the LG Optmus G Pro L-04E flagship smartphone, which is part of its 2013 Sprint Collection. With word Pro in its name, the phone is more powerful than the original Optimus G and is bigger with a 5-inch Full HD 1920×1080 IPS LCD touchscreen display, like Sony’s Xperia Z, HTC Butterfly J/DROID DNA…etc.
The Optimus G Pro is boosted by a Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core chip with 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It packs a 3000mAh high-capacity battery to deliver a long battery life. The handset features a 13 Megapixel main camera and a 1.9 Megapixel front-facing camera, both with BSI CMOS image sensor. You can expect NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi as well as LTE support.
The G Pro comes with 32GB onboard storage and supports microSD/SDHC/SDXC for expansion. Unlike many Japanese phones, the new Optimus is not waterproof or dustproof. LG managed to keep the phone slim at just 10mm thick. NTT DoCoMo is going to release the Optimus G Pro in April.
