Along with the HF R-series, Canon’s VIXIA family also gets a prosumer-level new member, the VIXIA HF G20 Full HD camcorder. According to the camera maker, the G20 is designed to rival pro-level camcorders in image quality. It captures Full HD 1920x1080p videos in MPEG4 or AVCHD format.
To deliver high-quality video and soft background blur, the VIXIA HF G20 is equipped with a Canon 10x HD video lens with 8-bladed iris; while its professional-level Canon HD CMOS Pro image sensor provides improved low-light performance and a wide dynamic range. The camcorder includes Dynamic SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization to correct a full range of motion and the Intelligent IS to automatically optimize image stabilization for the shooting condition.
Intended for professionals, the G20 features nine Cinema-Look Filters to create video with a variety of professional cinematic look and Professional Shooting Assist functions. The Audio Scene Select allows for easy operation and optimum audio recording settings. You can also find Smart AUTO mode for shooting great videos easily and Touch Decoration for creating fun and exciting images. You will never miss a moment, thanks to the camcorder’s Pre-Record feature that capture three seconds of footage automatically before users press the record button.
The prosumer VIXIA has 32GB of internal flash memory and two SD/SDHC/SDXC card slots to store video recordings, and the Relay Recording function will switch recording to memory card when the internal memory is full. The camcorder has a an electronics viewfinder and a 3.5-inch touch display. Coming in February, the VIXIA HF G20 will be available for $1099.99.
