Apricorn launches its new Velocity Solo X2 SSD/SATA III desktop upgrade kit, which is a PCIe 2.0 x2 lane card that allows you to enhance the performance of your computer by adding up to two 2.5-inch SSDs. The card has space for one 2.5-inch SSD, and provides a SATA III connector for adding another SATA III drive. It uses Marvell 9182 chipset and fits into a PCIe 2.0 x2 slot or larger.
The Velocity Solo X2 allows users to upgrade their system with high-speed SSD and SATA III connection, delivering faster system boot time and application launch time and improved gaming performance. Using PCIe 2.0 x2 slot, the kit supports up to 550MB/s speeds with a single SSD and up to 800MB/s when configured with two drives. The X2 supports TRIM command and is ideal for use as a boot disk or scratch disk. It comes with Apricorn EZ Gig cloning software for PC and works with Disk Utility for cloning Macs.
