Pentax introduces two new K-mount lenses, the smc PENTAX DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 ED SDM high magnification zoom lens, and the HD PENTAX DA 560mm F5.6 ED AW super-telephoto lens.
The smc PENTAX DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 ED SDM featres 15x zoom ratio, covering focal lengths from 27.5mm wide angle to 414mm super telephoto (35mm equivalent). It features Pentax’s SDM autofocus system driven by a supersonic motor, two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements in its optics, minimum focusing distance of 1.6 ft. (0.49m) over the entire zoom range and rounded diaphragm that delivers precise control.
On the other hand, the super-telephoto HD PENTAX DA 560mm F5.6 ED AW has a focal length of 859mm (35mm equivalent). The lens is treated with HD Coating, Pentax newly developed high-grade multi-player lens coating that provides higher light transmittance with reduced reflection for sharp and clear images. It also features smooth autofocus operation with AF driveing motor, Quick-Shift Focus system for instant switching to manual focus operation after the subject is captured in focus by the camera’s AF system, Super Protect on the front surface to repel water and grease and easily wipe off dust and stain. As the latest addition to AW (All Weather) series, the HD PENTAX DA 560mm lens has a dustproof, weather-resistant construction with 29 special seals to effectively prevent the intrusion of dust and water.
Both new lenses work with K-5 II, K-5 IIs, K-30, K-01, K-5, K-r, K-7, K-x, K-m, K20D, K200D, K100D Super and K10D DSLR cameras. The smc PENTAX DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 ED SDM will be in November for $799.95, and the HD PENTAX DA 560mm F5.6 ED AW in December for $6999.95.
