Pentax announced its new HD PENTAX D FA 645 MACRO 90mm F2.8 ED AW SR medium telephoto lens designed for the 645D SLR medium format camera. The lens offers a 71mm focal length (35mm equivalent) when mounted on a 645D. It incorporating two ED (extra-low dispersion) elements and one glass-molded aspherical element in its optics to ensure high-resolution image reproduction and minimize chromatic aberration.
The new 90mm Macro lens features Pentax’s original Shake Reduction mechanism that compensates for camera shake up to approximately 3.5 shutter steps, and offers macro photography at a maximum magnification of 0.5 times. It includes Quick-Shift focus system for instant switch to manual-focus operation after the subject is captured in focus by the camera’s AF system. The lens has a dustproof and weather-resistant construction and gets the new high-grade multi-layer lens HD coating and Aero Bright Coating that offer higher light transmittance with reduced reflection to deliver sharp, clear images free of flare and ghosting. There is also Super Protect coating on the front surface to repel water and grease, and for easy wipe-off of dust.
