Alongside the new Pentax Q10 interchangeable lens camera, Pentax also announced a new Q-mount lens and a adapter for Q-mount. The PENTAX 06 Q-Mount is a super compact and lightweight telephoto zoom lens for use with Q-mount and offers with 83mm – 249mm telephoto zoom range (equivalent 35mm format). The lens features Quick-Shift focus system that allows for instant switching to manual focus operation after the subject is captured in focus by the camera’s AF system.

The PENTAX 06 incorporates two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and one super-low dispersion glass element in its optics to compensate for chromatic aberration over the entire zoom range. There is Super Protec coating on the front surface of the optic to block dust and dirt.

Pentax Adapter Q for K-mount Lenses

The Adapter Q for K-mount is designed for users to use Pentax K-mount lenses on the Pentax Q-system cameras, including the Pentax Q and Q10. It supports full range of K-mount lenses and will extend the focal lenght of the mounted lens by about 5.5 times in 35mm format. The adapter has built-in mechanical shutter to prevent “rolling shutter distortion” and is compatible with in-camera Shake Reduction.

The PENTAX 06 Q-Mount will be available in October for $299.95 and the Adapter Q will be released within this year for $249.95.
