While Nokia has a really really friendly relationship with Microsoft and bet on Windows Phone system, Samsung takes the lead in the new Windows Phone 8 platform, announcing the all-new ATIV S smartphone. The newly introduced ATIV brand, the reverse order of the word VITA, will be used on Samsung’s new Window-powered devices, just like the Galaxy brand is for Android products.

The ATIV S runs Windows Phone 8 on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It sports a 4.8-inch large HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display that is great for web browsing and watch movies and videos. Its 8 Megapixel auto focus camera is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording and there is a 1.9 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. It includes NFC (Near Field Communication) and Tap+Send function to share files easily using NFC and Bluetooth.WiFi.  Bluetooth, AGPS/GPS, WiFi 802.11b/g/n are also included.

Samsung ATIV S is available in 16GB and 32GB capacities, and supports microSD/SDHC/SDXC cards for expansion. The handset works on quad-band GSM/EDGE and quad-band HSPA+ mobile networks.
