Sony announced at the IFA 2012 in Germany the Xperia T flagship smartphone which will be featured in the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall. Build on the same design language first introduced in Xperia arc and arc S, featuring slim form factor and a stylish design. The phone is powered by a latest generation Qualcomm Krait MSM8260 dual-core 1.5GHz processor and will be shipped with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with future upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Xperia T sports a large 4.6-inch HD Reality 1280×720 touchscreen with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and supports MHL output and DLNA for showing media content on a bigger screen. Its fast capture 13 Megapixel camera has auto focus, face detection, image stabilization and Full HD 1080p video recording. There is also a front camera capable of 720 video recording. Along with Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS/AGPS, the phone also include NFC (Near Field Communcation) for content sharing as well as e-ticketing and payments.

Sony’s Xperia T is PlayStation certified for playing titles available from PlayStation Store and supports Sony Entertainment Networks for streaming music and movie. It comes pre-loaded with Walkman application and includes xLoud loudness enhancement. As for storage, the handset gets 16GB onboard memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB.

Sony will release the Xperia T (known as Xperia XT in some markets) over the next few weeks. It comes in Black, Silver and White colors. It supports penta-band UMTS/HSPA+ 3.5G and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks.
