MetroPCS and Samsung bring a new Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S Lightray 4G which is the first smartphone in the US to offer live broadcast television with Dyle mobile TV. Powered by a 1GHz processor, the Lightray runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. With Dyle mobile TV, users can watch local and national sports, news and entertainment broadcast programming on their mobile phones.
If mobile TV is not attrative enough, the Galaxy S Lightray also supports 4G LTE high-speed data network. It features LTE Mobile Hotspot function for sharing 4G connection with multiple WiFi devices. The handset sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus 800×480 touchscreen display, a 8 Megapixel main camera with LED flash, a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, as well as GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It has a mini HDMI output.
MetroPCS’s Lightray 4G comes with 1.37GB internal memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB. It is available for $549. According to the carrier, access to Dyle mobile TV service is available to customers on a MetroPCS 4G LTE service plan at no additional charge.
