Panasonic introduces its latest long-zoom digital camera, the LUMIX DMC-FZ200 equipped with a 24x powerful zoom lens. Its 25mm ultra-wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens features a 25-600mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range and a full range F2.8 aperture, making the FZ200 the first digital camera to have full range F2.8 aperture at 600mm. The lens also has Panasonic’s Nano Surface Coating technology for minizized light reflection.
The FZ200 sports a 12.1 Megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor and LSI Venus Engine for high-speed response and high image quality. It features Light Speed AF and is capable of high speed burst shooting at12 fps in full resolution. It has a quick start-up time of approximately .95 seconds. With Intelligent Zoom, the camera’s 24x zoom range can be increased to 48x, and pictures quality are maintained thanks to Intelligent Resolution Technology. The FZ200 includes Panasonic’s iA and iA Plus, offering POWER O.I.S. with Active Mode, AF Tracking, Intelligent D-range Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Recognition, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Handheld Night Shot, Intelligent HDR and Motion Deblur functions, as well as the ability to adjust exposure compensation, white balance and defocusing background areas. Its Creative Control mode offers 14 filter options and there are HDR mode, Panorama Shot mode and 3D Photo mode as well.
The new long-zoom Lumix has a 0.2-inch EVF (Electronic View Finder) with 1,312,000-dot equivalent high resolution and 100% field of view. It can capture Full HD 1920×1080/60p videos in AVCHD format and is equipped with stereo zoom microphone with zoom noise reduction system, an Auto Wind Cut function and Dolby Digital Stereo Creatore for high-quality sound recording. The FZ200 comes with a 3-inch Intelligetn LCD screen and mini HDMI output.
