Lenovo is launching in June the new ThinkPad W530 mobile workstation designed for those who need processing power and graphics performance on the go. Equipped with the latest Ivy Bridge 3rd gen Core processor up to quad-core Core i7 and NVIDIA Quadro 1100M or 2100M graphics with 2GB RAM and Optimus technology, the machine is ready to handle professional applications such as CAD/CAM, GIS and 3D modeling. It is an independent software vendor (ISV)-certified workstation and comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD 270-nit wide viewing angle LCD display with 95% color gamut and a built-in X-Rite color calibrator. According to Lenovo, the W530 meets eight MIL-SPEC tests for durability.
The W530, replacing the W520, sports up to 32GB of RAM, up to 1TB hard drive or 256GB SSD, integrated optical drive and a card reader. It comes with new precision keyboard with optional backlight, dual-array HD microphone with noise-cancelling, integrated 720p HD webcam, USB 3.0 ports, 1394 port as well as WiFi connectivity. The notebook offers VGA and DisplayPort output and supports up to four external displays with optional ThinkPad dock.
The Lenovo ThinkPad W530 will be released in June starting at $1529.
