Sprint is launching on 18 May the Sierra Wireless 4G LTE Tri-Fi (model AirCard 803S) Hotspot that supports Sprint CDMA 1xEVDO Rev. A, Rev. 0 and 1X (850/1900 MHz) 3G as well as 4G LTE (band class 25) and 2500MHz WiMAX mobile networks. As the first of its kind, the Tri-Fi connects to a 3G network outside of 4G coverage area, offering a smooth transition and expanded coverage for network connection. The mobile hotspot supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n standards and is cable to share connection to up to 8 WiFi-enabled devices. It offers an extended Wi-Fi range up to 150 feet outdoors, 115 feet indoors.

The 4G LTE Tri-Fi is GPS capable and features Wi-Fi GPS capability, allowing users to pinpoint and map their location using any capable connected device. Its microSD card slot supports up to 32GB card. With DLNA support, you can also share media files on the microSD with any DLNA capable device. The compact Tri-Fi hotspot has a 1.7-inch 160×128 LCD display to show connection status, number of people sharing and battery life.

Sierra Wireless’ AirCard 803S Tri-Fi has micro USB port for charging and wired internet sharing. Its 3600mAh battery offers up to 8 hours of access time and 8 weeks standby time. It is available for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate with a two-year service agreement.
