As Samsung is announcing its new Galaxy S III smartphone on 3 May at 7PM at its Unpacked 2012 event in London, lets have a round-up of rumors about the company’s next flagship. There are several leaked shots of the device, and seems there will be more than one version of the phone with different designs. Some shots indicates a device with a big home button in the middle with menu and back buttons on each of two sides underneath a big touchscreen, while some others show a Galaxy S II-like unit with no physical buttons.
It is said that the Galaxy will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos quad-core processor or Qualcomm’s SnapDragon S4 dual-core processor, depending on regions. The phone will get a 4.6-inch or 4.8-inch non-Pentile AMOLED touchscreen with 720p resolution. Depending on carriers, there may also be LTE 4G version. A 8 or 12 Megapixel camera and NFC support are also on-board. Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS are just basic features. This third generation Galaxy S will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung’s new TouchWiz UI.
