Western Digital (WD) launches its new MyBook Thunderbolt Duo dual-drive storage system, which is the company’s first external hard drive to use Thunderbolt technology. The Duo is available in 4TB and 6TB capacities. With two hard drives, users can configure the system to run in RAID 0 striping mode for max speeds, or in RAID 1 for double-safe data protection. Of course, you can also set them to JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) to use as two individual drives.
Using Thunderbolt technology, the My Book Thunderbolt Duo deliver super fast transfer rate, and with two Thunderbolt connectors on the back, you can daisy chain several drives (up to 6) for enhanced performance. The dual-drive system works with Time Machine.
WD’s My Book Thunderbolt Duo is priced at $599.99 for 4TB and $699.99 for 6TB.
