Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012, LG introduces the world’s first quad-core smartphone – the Optimus 4X HD. The powerful smartphone is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor featuring the unique 4-PLUS-1 design for high-level multimedia performance that utilizes a fifth batterysaver core to handle less demanding tasks such as active standby and music playback. The Tegra 3 is also equipped with a 12-core GPU to deliver rich gaming experience. The phone has 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory.

The Optimus 4X HD features a 4.7-inch large 1280×720 True HD IPS touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel camera with backside illumination (BSI) image sensor and LED flash, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat, and GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The quad-core Android phone is just 8.9mm thick and features a prism-edged design with enhanced materials and finish.

LG is going to show the Optimus 4X HD at the MWC 2012. The phone will be released with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
