Pentax announced its new K-01 interchangeable lens camera (mirrorless camera) designed by Marc Nerson who are known for designing wide range of objects from furniture and household products to bicycles, cars, aircraft and yachts. The mirrorless design K-01 is compatible with ENTAX K-mount lenses.
The K-01 sports a APS-C sized 16 Megapixel CMOS image sensor and a 3-inch LCD display. It features sensor-shift PENTAX Shake and Dust Reduction system that is compatible with every mounted Pentax lens, and offers 6fps burst mode for fast-action photography. Pentax will release new smc PENTAX-DA 40mm F2.8 XS interchangeable lens, which is the world’s thinnest interchangeable lens, for the K-01. The mirrorless camera featurs in-camera HDR mode that combines bracketed user-specified exposures into a single image for enhanced image quality, and multiple shooting modes including P, Av, Tv, and M as well as Auto Picture, scene modes, and creative filters.
Pentax K-01 provides a flexible ISO range of 100-25600 and the Focus Peaking Mode that provides fast and accurate manual focusing for critical focus applications. It supports Full HD 1080- video recording at 30fps. The K-01 will be available in March in yellow, black and white for $749.95 (body only) and $899.95USD (lens kit including new DA 40mm XS) in Marc Newson designed packaging and with the Marc Newson designed strap.
