Lenovo introduces its second generation Classmate+ PCs based on Intel Learning Series. Available in both clamshell and convertible laptop form factors, the new Classmate+ laptops offer students, teachers and IT administrators more ruggedness and long battery life. They have a keyboard with enhanced water resistance, a tougher corner design, reinforced steel hinge and strengthened DC jack.
The new Classmate+ notebooks are powered by Intel Atom N2600 processor, up to 2GB of RAM, up to 320GB hard drive or up to 32GB SSD. They have a 10.1-inch anti-glare display and the convertible model will include touch capability and optional capacitive touchscreen with a pen on the convertible. High-brightness or high-definition screens are optional.
The new Lenovo Classmate+ come with a 6-cell battery for up to 10 hours of use. The laptops have three USB ports, VGA output, webcam in resolution up to 2 Megapixel, and optional HDMI port. The Classmate+ Convertible has an exclusive rotating hinge strengthened and designed to last tens of thousands of cycles, a built-in hardware button to make scrolling through ebooks simple and an optional Trusted Platform Module to protect data like passwords and digital certificates from external software attacks and physical theft.
