Thecus has just announced the N4100EVO, the first 4-bay NAS device powered by a Cavium dual-core processor. The unit supports hardward RAID and is equipped with a dedicated XOR engine to lighten the load of building RAID and free up the CPU to keep your NAS running fast. There is also RAID Accelerator for building RAID quicker.

The Thecus N4100EVO has four SATA hard drive bays and two USB Host ports for connecting external storage devices. It has 256MB of RAM, and has dual 10/100/1000 BASE-TX Auto MDI/MDI-X LAN ports. The NAS includes built-in FTP/SFTP server, iTunes server and TimeMachine support, Piczza Web Server, uPnP and DLNA media server, Surveillance module, printer server, support for Rsync as well as support for iSCSI and Download Manager. It comes with the Acronis True Image software for data backup and recovery.

Thecus N4100EVO has a 2-inch LCD screen for more convenient administration.
