As the follow-up to the Captivate, AT&T and Samsung are planning to launch the new Captivate Glide Android smartphone with side-slide QWERTY keyboard. The new device supports AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ 21 Mbps (Category 14) for fast data connection. It is boosted by a 1GHz Tegra 2 AP20H dual-core processor with 1GB RAM, 1GB ROM and runs Android 2.3.
The Captivate Glide features a 4-inch Super AMOLED 480×800 touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera. Like the Motorola ATRIX 2, the Glide can record 1080p Full HD video and has HDMI output. It includes enhanced Exchange ActiveSync support for IT policies, task synchronization and global address lookup as well as support for virtual private network and Mobile Device Management (MDM), making it ideal for business professionals.
