Acer ships its slim Revo RL100 media center in the United States, which is a digital media hub for living room. It lets you enjoy movies or other media content on a big screen HDTV. The RL100 comes in two models with one gets Blu-ray drive and both models are equipped with AMD Athlon II K325 1.3GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and 750GB hard drive. It comes with RevoPad, a dual-mode wireless touchpad/keyboard that can be used as a multi-gesture touchpad or as a backlit full-function keyboard.
For better video playback performance, the Revo RL100 also sports NVIDIA ION dedicated graphics with support for 1080p/720p HD video playback and Web HD Flash acceleration. It connects directly to a TV via an HDMI port and is enhanced with Dolby Home Theater v3 to provide clear audio experience. The RL100 has built-in WiFi and Ethernet connectivity and supports DLNA. It comes with integrated multi-in-one card reader, optical S/PDIF port and three USB 2.0 ports. That will be perfect if the Revo media center packs also HDTV tuner, but it doesn’t.
The Acer Revo RL100-U1002 is priced at $499.99 and the Acer Revo RL100-UR20P with a Blu-ray drive costs $569.99.
