Along with the M4600 and M6600 mobile workstations, Dell also launches the Precision R5500 rack workstation, providing the full scalability and performance of desktop workstation into a dual-socket rack form factor.
Purpose-engineered for professionals who require compute intensive applications and extreme performance with remote capability, the Precision R5500 is boosted by intel Xeon processor options with up to six cores, up to 192GB of RAM and dual high-end graphics and general purpose (GP) GPU compute solutions from NVIDIA including the newest NVIDIA Quadro and NVIDIA Tesla solutions. The rack workstation can be equipped with up to five SATA drives and up to six SAS drives. It has room for up to five standard, full-length, full-height, PCI-e x16 cards.
The Dell Precision R5500 has integrated dual Broadcom BCM5761 Gigabit Ethernet controllers. It will be available on 3 May in the US starting at $2551 and in Asia-Pacific Japan region on May 10.
