Verizon Wireless is going to release Samsung’s Droid Charge SCH-i520 Android smartphone, which was first revealed back at the CES 2011. The new Samsung-made Droid phone supports Verizon’s 4G LTE network with download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G Mobile Broadband coverage area. It is powered by a 1GHz processor and runs Android 2.2 OS with TouchWiz UI, Swype keyboard and Samsung Media Hub content service.
The Samsung Droid Charge sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, a 8 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat, and of course Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The phone includess mobile hotspot capability that can share 4G LTE connection with up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices or 3G connection with up to 5 devices.
The Samsung Droid Charge will be available on 28 April for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
