Sprint, Samsung and Google have partnered to bring the Nexus S 4G Android smartphone to the carrier’s WiMax 4G mobile network. This 4G version of Nexus S supports Sprint’s 4G WiMAX network, with peak download speeds of more than 10 Mbps; peak upload speeds of 1 Mbps; average download speeds of 3-6 Mbps, and CDMA EVDO Rev. A 3G network.

Except for the network standards supported, the Nexus S 4G is the same as the original GSM/WCDMA model. It is powered by a 1GHz Samsung processor with 512MB RAM and 16GB internal memory, and offers pure Android experience with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. The 4G Android phone sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED Contour Display with a curved design, 5 Megapixel main camera with video recording, a 1VGA front camera for video calling. It includes support for GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n and has 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability supporting up to six Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously.

The Samsung Nexus S 4G from Google will be available exclusively from Sprint this spring for $199.99 with a new two-year contract.
