Samsung is going to release in the US market its Galaxy Player 4 and Galaxy Player 5 Android-powered portable media players. Unveiled at the MWC 2011, the 4-inch and 5-inch Galaxy Players run Android 2.2 (upgradeable to Gingerbread 2.3) with Adobe Flash 10.1. They have a similar design as the company’s Galaxy S smartphone.
The Galaxy Player 4 comes with a 4-inch Super Clear LCD display while the Galaxy Player 5 has a 5-inch screen. Both of them them feature a 3.2 Megapixel main camera, a VGA front camera for video chat, GPS support, AllShare (DLNA) support, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi connectivity and a microSD/SDHC card slot. As media players, these Galaxy Players are equipped with Virtual 5.1 surround sound and Samsung’s SoundAlive post-processing technology. The 5-inch player also has flash for camera.
