Patriot Memory launches the Javelin S4 media server that comes with four drive bays for standard 3.5-inch drives totaling up to 12TB storage capacity. The device supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10 and a hot-spare drive for enhanced storage efficiency whether performance or redundancy is needed. It offers eSATA and USB interfaces for users to add external hard drives, and is compatible with Time Machine.
As a media server, the Javelin, of course, offers network capability. It includes integrated Apple iTunes server, supports DLNA and UPnP, integrated BitTorrent cluent, auto backup functionaloty, and print server support. There is also a web browser interface enables users to stream audio, video and images from the Patriot Javelin to any Internet-connected device in the world via a web browser of mobile phone application for Android and iOS devices.
The Javelin S4 has 256MB DDR2 memory and 128MB flash memory. It will be released in late February.
