At the MWC last year, HTC brought us the HTC Desire, this year at the MWC 2011, HTC announced the new Desire S Android phone. Compare to the Desire, the new Desire S has no really big changes. HTC gives it a new all-black sleek unibody design with a premium aluminum finish, and bumps the internal storage to 1.1GB and RAM to 768MB. HTC also adds 720p HD video recording capability and a front camera for video chat. Physical buttons are also replaced by touch-sensitive buttons.
The Desire S is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon MSM8255 1GHz processor. It features a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash, internal GPS receiver, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi connectivity. The phone has micro USB port, a 3.5mm stereo jack and a microSD card slot. It supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and HSPA/WCDMA networks.
HTC will release the Desire S in Q2 2011. It will come loaded with Android 2.4 with HTC Sense UI.
